COLONEL COMMANDANT VISITS 1 SLSC

As a part of the official unit visit of the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major General KRP Rowel RWP USP ndu psc visits the 1 Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps on 26 September 2015.\r\n\r\nThe Commanding Officer of 1 Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps warmly welcomed the Colonel Commandant with a guard turn out. Thereafter, Major General KRP Rowel RWP USP ndu psc planted a \'Mango Tree\' at the unit premises to mark his official visit to 1 SLSC as the Colonel Commandant. Thereafter, Colonel Commandant has declared open the main entrance of the unit temple and engaged with religious activities. As per the event line up Colonel Commandant has declared open the renovated Regimental Police Post, newly constructed ORs billet and state of art laboratory facilities which will help all young officer and the ORs to learn their basics in Signals communication.\r\n\r\nThe Colonel Commandant addressed all gathered and outlined his vision on the future development of signalers in order to face the multi facets challengers in years to come.\r\n\r\nSubsequent to the all ranks tea Colonel Commandant visited the unit lines and he appreciated the vast progress made by the unit during recent past. Thereafter, Commanding Officer 1 SLSC delivered his comprehensive presentation covering all Operational, Communication and Administrative matters of the unit. At the end of the briefing Colonel Commandant addressed all signal officers and Other Ranks in the SFHQ (MLT) AOR.\r\n \r\nIn the evening Colonel Commandant participated for the religious activity organized at the Wattappalai Kovil with the participation of All Ranks. The days programme come to an end with all ranks get together at the camp premises. Finally the Colonel Commandant departs for Kilinochchi by leaving a special congratulatory note in the Visitors\' Book of the 1 SLSC for the untiring efforts of the 1 SLSC to uplift the standard of the unit.
