COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE CORPS OF SIGNALS VISITED 6TH SIGNAL REGIMENT

Official visit on the New Year 2019 of Major General Ajith Wijesinghe USP ndu psc, Military Secretary of Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant Corps of Signals, to 6th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps (IT) deployed in Jaffna was taken place on 19th January 2019. He was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer 6SLSC (IT) Lieutenant Colonel M A K Jayawardena psc and the Officers of the Regiment.

At the outstretch Commanding Officer made his briefing about the unit’s present situation to the Colonel Commandant at the Regiment Headquarters that was followed by a planting of a sapling at Officers’ Mess premises and a troops address. During the troops address Colonel Commandant expressed his best wishes for the New Year 2019 and recalled the history of the unit at the time when he commanded the same Regiment that was then in Reinforcement role. Further he emphasised the importance of keeping discipline of the soldiers and the responsibilities of the seniors towards the subordinates. Also he appreciated the troops about their valuable contribution for the success of 75th Annivasary events of the Corps of Signals held in the last year. During the visit Colonel Commandant inspected the “Information Technology Resource Centre - Jaffna” that is in progress of construction at the camp premises.
