CHIEF SIGNAL OFFICER AND OUT GOING COLONEL COMMANDANT PAID HIS LAST VISIT TO 1ST REGIMENT SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS

1ST Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps bid farewell for the outgoing 8th Chief Signal Officer and 14th Colonel Commandant Major General PAJ Peiris ndu on 22nd May 2022 at 1st Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Mullaittivu.

Commencing the day’s event Lieutenant Colonel PAR Anthonis psc, the Commanding Officer warmly welcomed Major General Ashoka Peiris on arrival and a subsequent Ceremonial Guard Turnout was awarded at the entrance in accordance with military formalities.

Subsequently he visited the CO’s office where he had served as 21st Commanding Officer of the 1st Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps and recalled his memories way back in 2008. Later, he planted a Sandalwood sapling to mark his last visit to 1st Regiment. Afterwards, Major General PAJ Peiris ndu delivered his farewell speech to all ranks and convince all to harness professionalism whilst preserving highest standard of discipline during their career and adjust to the prevailing situation of the country. At the end of his address the Commanding Officer presented a memento in appreciating his exemplarity and valuble service rendered to the corps of signals during his military career. Thereafter all ranks tea was taken place and chief guest spared his time with Officers and Other Ranks.

Major General Ashoka Peiris shared his valuable thoughts with officers and sat together for lunch with all officers at the Officers’ Mess and left a couple of thoughts and compliments in the Visitors’ Book before departure from the 1st Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps concluding the day’s event.
