THE CHIEF SIGNAL OFFICER AND COLONEL COMMANDANT OF SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS VISITS 7TH REGIMENT SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS

The Chief Signal Officer and Colonel Commandant, Major General H M L D Herath RSP USP psc visited 7th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps Diyathalawa on 29th October 2022. This was his first official visit to the 7th Regiment after taking over the appointment of Chief Signal Officer.

Major D S L Kumarasiri psc, the Commanding Officer warmly welcomed Major General H M L D Herath RSP USP psc on arrival and a subsequent ceremonial guard turnout was awarded at the entrance in accordance with military formalities. Then he planted an Iron Wood sapling to mark his visit to 7th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps and had a group photograph with all ranks.

Subsequently the Commanding Officer conducted a comprehensive briefing on the status of ICT and admin matters of 7 SLSC.

The Colonel Commandant addressed the troops and highlighted that how to harness professionalism whilst preserving highest standard of discipline during their career and the importance of being the best battalion of the corps. At the end of his address the Commanding Officer presented a memento to mark his visit. Thereafter, chief guest attended to all ranks tea and spared his time with officers and other ranks. Subsequently he visited the camp premises too.

Before concluding the programme, the Colonel Commandant shared his views with officers during the lunch at Officers’ Mess and left compliments in the Visitors’ Book.
