The book distribution programme for nearly 1500 schoolchildren of Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) to the value of Rs 4 million was organized with the direction of the president, Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSC-SVB) Mrs Sashika Herath, in order to support schooling necessities of Students of Soldiers and civil staff of the SLSC. The event was organized, under School accessories and stationeries were symbolically distributed among 53 students of those families including three Grade 5 scholarship achievers of SLSC on 08 October 2022 at the Auditorium RHQ SLSC to coincide with both the Children's Day and the Army Day on Monday (10). The President of, the Army Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs Janaki Liyange graced the occasion as the chief guest at the invitation of the Chairperson, SLSC- SVB.
The event was sponsored through funds raised by all the members of the SLSC-SVB in the recent past by conducting fund-raising projects and contributions of well-wishers.
The Chief Guest gave away those incentives and extended her best wishes to the beneficiaries. Several dancing and other aesthetic features coloured the day's event.
