BATHIYA & SANTHUSH \"UPCLOSE AND PERSONAL\" MUSICAL EXTRAVAGANZA
The grand musical performance of Bathiya & Santhush (BnS) \"Upclose and Personal\" organized by Signals Seva Vanitha Branch drew a massive crowd to the Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre, Polgolla on the evening of 12 February 2017. Although this glamorous musical extravaganza was organized within a limited period of time, it ultimately turned to be a thriving event of fundraising that was organized to ensure the uplifting of living standards of the differently able troops, families of the deceased war heroes, retired personnel and serving personnel of the Corps of Signals as well.\r\n\r\nFamous singers Bathiya Jayakody and Santhush Weeraman, popularly known as BnS are a Sri Lankan hip-hop duo who started their 2-man operation a couple of years ago as youths attracting mostly the country’s younger generation. Apart from being two of the most innovative music personalities of the era, names of BnS in Sri Lanka have also been recorded as two of the most successful entrepreneurs in the Sri Lankan music industry. Since the inception of their act in 1998, they have released nearly 8 albums and have had over 25 Sri Lankan number one singles mixing Sinhala, Tamil, and English lyrics in their originals. They have performed more than 20 popular hits together with Umara & Umaria Sinhawansha and Ashanthi de Alwis to entertain the audience for more than two and half hours in one show.\r\n
