AGM of SLSC-Seva Vanitha Held

Annual General Meeting for the year 2022 of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps held on 25 February 2022 at the Sri Lanka Signal Corps Regimental officers' Mess.

At the outset of the General Meeting, The lighting of the oil lamp by The Hon President Mrs Sajeewani Peiris, Executive Committee and other senior members of the Signals Seva Vanitha Branch denoted the commencement of the day's proceedings. A two minutes silence was observed to commemorate War Heroes who sacrificed their lives for the motherland. During the AGM, the new executive committee and the working committee for the year 2021 was introduced for the year 2022.

New Executive Committee for 2022 as follows:

  • President - Mrs Sajeewani Peiris
  • Vice President- Mrs Shashika Herath
  • Secretary – Mrs Nalini Rathnayake
  • Assistant Secretary - Mrs. Rasika Dasanayake
  • Treasurer - Mrs Nimalka Alwitigala
  • Public Relation Officer – Mrs Ganga Herath
  • Assistant Public Relation Officer – Mrs Shakila Wickramasekara
  • Afterwards, the Hon president Mrs Sajeewani Peiris addressed the audience and highlighted the vision and objectives of the Signals Seva Vanitha Branch and shared her views mentioning that the members of the branch should put hand in hand and help in uplifting the welfare of the soldiers and their families, also empowering army wives of the Signals family.

    A documentary video highlighting the welfare and social activities conducted in the year 2021 was screened and tasks to be carried out in the current year were also reviewed during the meeting. Mrs Nalini Rathnayake, Hon Secretary delivered the vote of thanks bringing the day’s proceedings to end.

    As an honour to the ladies present at the event, a gift pack was presented to each one of them in appreciation of their participation. The programme was held strictly in compliance with COVID 19 Health guidelines.
