71st Corps day celebrations of Sri Lanka Signal Corps was held at Regimental Center Sri Lanka Signal Corps premises Panagoda on 19 October 2014 in a grand scale. Major General SAPP Samarasinghe RSP USP psc, the Chief of Staff of the Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps has grace the occasion as the chief guest and was honored with a guard turn out and a colourful regimental parade. Thereafter, Colonel Commandant has addressed all officers gathered for the occasion. The days celebrations were concluded with the all ranks\' lunch followed by felicitation of sportsmen and women those who excelled in sports and represent National teams in their respective sport disciplines to bring hounour to the Corps. The most significantly 5 Sri Lanka Signal Corps was awarded as the \"Best Signal Regiment\" for recognizing her outstanding performances and commitment during the year 2013- 2014.
Major General SAPP Samarasinghe RSP USP psc the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps has declared open newly built Regimental Conference Hall,Auditorium and Software Development and Engineering Wing building at Sri Lanka Signal Corps in line with the 71st Corps day celebrations. A modern conference hall with all facilities able to accommodate 150 personnel at any given time. The renovated regimental Auditorium built to suit for any occasion with a professional touch. The Software Development and Engineering Wing was consisting with sophisticated IT laboratory and facilitate developing new software to coop-up with requirements of the contemporary Army.
