3 SLSC BADE FAREWELL TO THE 8TH COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE CORPS OF SIGNALS

3rd Signal Regiment bade farewell to the 8th Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals Major General BHMA Wijesinghe USP ndu psc on 20th April 2019 at the Regiment Headquarters at Palaly Army Cantonment.

Upon the escorted arrival at the Main Entrance of the Regiment, Colonel Commandant was driven pass through the traditional ceremonial Guard Turnout to the unit line where the Troops Address was taken place. Commanding Officer 3rd Signal Regiment Lieutenant Colonel NPA Mendis psc SLSC received the Colonel Commandant near the ORs' Mess complex and conducted to the hall for the Troops Address.

After the welcome speech by the Commanding Officer, Colonel Commandant delivered his concluding formal Troops Address to the troops of 3rd Signal Regiment. During the speech, Colonel Commandant emphasized the validity of the professional accomplishment, physical robustness, discipline and good conduct to face the challenges of Signallers in the perpetual battlefront in future warfare. In the same venue, Commanding Officer presented the Plaque of Honour of the Regiment to the Colonel Commandant in appreciation of his instrumental service rendered to the Regiment during his tour of duty.

Then the Colonel Commandant planted a sapling to mark his final visit to 3rd Signal Regiment that was followed by a Staff Tea held at the Regiment's Officers Mess where Colonel Commandant finally penned his thoughts in the Visitors' Book prior to departure.
