HISTORY
The 662 Infantry Bde was inaugurated under the Task Force 6 on 7 Jan 2009 at ALANKERNI. After completing six months at ALANKERNI, Bde moved to SINNAPARANTHAN on 15 Jun 2009. Once again Bde HQ was relocated in permanent place in SINNAPARANTHAN on 15 Jan 2010. The Bde is presently carrying out Sy duties in the AOR in order to assist the police to maintain law and order whilst engage in CIMIC activities. The Bde is responsible for the provisioning of sy for 14 Grama Niladhari Divisions located within three Divisional Secretariats.
