573 BRIGADE

HISTORY

• Brigade was raised under Task Force - 3 as 632 Brigade on 26 February 07 on 11 March 2009 this Brigade was renamed as 573 Brigade and deployed under 57 Division in Tharmapuram area.
• Brigade was shifted to Welikandal on 21 April 2010 Lieutenant Colonel PJ Gamage RWP RSP took over the Brigade on 26 February 07 & relinquished duties on 13 June 08.
• Lieutenant Colonel ALPS Thilakarathne psc took over the Brigade on 14 June 08 & relinquished duties on 25 October 08.
• Lieutenant Colonel SPKA Pilapitiya RSP took over the Brigade on 12 March 09 & relinquished duties on 06 June 09.
• Lieutenant Colonel PHN Sirishantha took over the Brigade on 06 June 09 & relinquished duties on 04 July 11.
• Brigadier DMHD Bandara RSP USP took over the brigade on 19 July 11
