The annual prize giving ceremony of Our Lady of Guadalupe Pre-School was held at the auditorium of Urban Council Trincomalee on 04 December graced by Most Rev. Dr. Noel Emmanuel, Bishop of Trincomalee as the Chief Guest, accompanied by the Commander Security Force (East) Major General Aruna Jayasekera.
As per the mandate of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) initiated by the HE the President Mithreepala Sirisena for the development of North and EAST, the direction and initiative given during the PTF meeting, the Security Force East has launched its inaugural step to release lands which are not essential for providing the security in the region. The Commander Security Force (East) Major General Aruna Jayasekera symbolically handed over relevant certificates of lands to the Hon. Governor of the Eastern Province Mr. Rohitha Bogollagama and District Secretary Trincomalee Mr. N A Pushpakumar at the presence of General Officer Commanding 22 Division Major General Nevil Weerasisnghe and the Brigade Commanders of 22 Division 10th December 2018 .
Major General Aruna Jayasekera, the Commander Security Force - East made his maiden formal field visits to the Headquarters 24 Division, 241 and 242 Brigade Headquarters on Saturday, the 1st of December.
The Commander Security Force (East), Major General Aruna Jayasekera, upon his assumption of office recently, made his maiden visit to the Headquarters 23 Division, Punani on Friday (30).

Unveiling the pinnacle (Kotha Nirawaranaya) of newly constructed Stupa at the Buddhist Centre Welikanda was held today (24th November 2018) under the patronage of the Commander Security Force (East) Major General Aruna Jayasekera coincide with his inauguration of the Office. Security Force Headquarters (East) facilitated this meritorious deed in line with the series of projects carried out to foster religious coexistence in the Eastern Province.
Major General Santhusitha Pananwala, the Commander Security Forces - East visited the Headquarters 22 Division - Trincomalee on Saturday (17) before his relinquishment of office as the Commander SF - East. On the arrival of the outgoing Commander, he was warmly welcomed by Major General Aruna Jayasekara, General Officer Commanding 22 Division. The visiting Commander Security Force (East) was accorded with a Guard Turnout at the entrance by the troops of 6 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.
As the outset of series of programmes carried out parallel to the 5th Anniversary of 24 Division, a full-day Blood Donation Campaign was organized at the Headquarters premises under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 24 Division, Major General Mahinda Mudalige, joining hands with the Blood Banks of Ampara, Polonnaruwa, Dehiaththakandiya, Mahaoya and Kalmunei on 16 Friday November 18.
Major General Santhusitha Pananwala, the Commander Security Forces - East made his farewell visit to the Headquarters 23 Infantry Division - Punani on Thursday (15) before his relinquishment of office as the Commander SF - East. On the arrival of the visiting Commander SF-E at the 23 Division Headquarters, he was warmly welcomed by Brigadier Kapila Udalupola, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 23 Division, before he was accorded a Guard Turnout by the troops of 6th Gajaba Regiment in conformity with military traditions.
The Commander Security Force (East), Major General Santhusitha Pananwala made his farewell visit to the 24 Division Headquarters on 16 Friday November 18. The outgoing Commander Security Force (East) was welcomed by Major General Mahinda Mudalige, General Officer Commanding 24 Division, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and other Staff Officers at 24 Division.
