ASVU Donates Wheelchair to an Ailing DaughterThe Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) at the Army HQ, once again lent its kind patronage and donated a wheelchair to the daughter of a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) of the 9 Sri Lanka National Guard during a simple event at the ASVU office premises on Wednesday (Jan 11). His daughter was bedridden due to an illness in the brain and has been receiving medicine for a long time. As soon as the request was brought forward to the ASVU, Mrs Janaki Liyanage, President, ASVU took prompt action to donate this wheelchair to the daughter along with a cash deposit that can be used by the patient in Rs. 20,000.00 monthly instalments. Colonel Coordinating, ASVU, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present during the donation.
