 Army Seva Vanitha Ladies Share Festive Sentiments with Residents at National Institute of Mental Health

The Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) organized a pleasant interaction with resident patients at the National Institute of Mental Health on account of the festive season. The project on Monday (Dec 19) included a delicious lunch, donation of essential items and a musical event.

The event was made possible with the instructions and guidance provided by Mrs Janaki Liyanage, President of ASVU, Chairperson of the Gajaba Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, Chairperson of Seva Vanitha Branch Sri Lanka National Guard and other senior members of the ASVU.

The Ward No 05 of the National Institute of Mental Health was painted and refurbished prior to the event and the washroom was also renovated after fixing new fittings. With the arrival of the chief guest, Mrs Janaki Liyanage, President of ASVU, series of events at the location commenced with a dance presented by those residents to the music of the Army Band.

After a while, Christmas presents were distributed before a delicious lunch was served to them. The day ended with the donation of essential items by the ASVU. The nursing officer, Ms Hemali Ganewatta delivered a special vote of thanks to the ASVU.

Mrs Samanthi Senarath Yapa, Mrs Chama Wanasinghe, Mrs Kumudu Manage, Mrs Ruveena Meththananda, Mrs H.G Swarnalatha, Senior ASVU members, Colonel Nalindra Mahavithana, Colonel Coordinating, ASVU, Senior Officers, Officers, other ranks and hospital staff participated in this project.
