 SLSC Seva Vanita Many Projects

Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) Seva Vanitha Unit, chaired by Mrs Ramya Kumari Rowel, conducted several welfare projects during the months of September and October.

The monthly meeting of the SLSC Seva Vanitha Unit was held on 13 September at the Signal School premises, Boowelikada under the patronage of Mrs Ramya Kumari Rowel, Chairperson, SLSC Seva Vanitha Unit.

During the meeting, a workshop on beauty culture sponsored by Dreamron and an interesting guest lecture on "The Role of a Military Wife" by Mrs.Arosha Perera, Director, Career Guidance and Counseling Unit and former Director of Physical Education, University of Peradeniya were conducted with the participation over 140 members.

Meanwhile, 5 SLSC organized a Seva Vanitha function, followed by a visit to interesting places in Kandy region with the participation of 50 family members of war heroes on 19 September at the School of Signals, Boowelikada. Mrs Ramya Kumari Rowel, Chairperson, SLSC Seva Vanitha Unit graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

During the event, small gift parcels were distributed to the children of war heroes.

Several members of the SLSC Seva Vanitha Unit visited the Sarvodaya Suwasetha Infants' Nutrition Centre in Moratuwa on 05October.

The members offered a special donation to abandoned children who are less than 3 years, worth of Rs. 30,000.00 and also some toys were distributed among the children at the end of the event.

The senior matron, Mrs. Damayanthi has extended her fullest cooperation to make this event a success and thanked everyone for their generous contribution and efforts they made for abandoned children.
