 SVAB Extends its Assistance to House Construction of disable War Heroes

The Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB), presided by Mrs. Manjulika Jayasuriya continues to assist disable War Heroes to complete their partially-built houses with the help of private donors and patronage.

In response to an SVAB request, Brandix (Pvt) Ltd offered a sum of Rs 60,000/= as financial assistance to the War Hero, Sergeant W.S Udaya Kumara of Gemunu Watch (GW) recently to support completion of his partly-built washroom. The first installment of Rs 30,000/= for this project was released to him recently. His Regiment provides labour for the construction.

 Four more War Heroes of the Commando Regiment in the meantime, received each Rs 100,000/= for construction of their houses from the SVAB. The first installment of Rs 60,000/= each to two of those War Heroes was given away recently while the other two War Heroes received the full sum, Rs 100,000/= each as donations from the SVAB. Accordingly, War Heroes, Corporal W.K.K.S. Tillakaratne, Corporal W.U.L. Weerawansa, Corporal G.L. Janaka and Private D.K.P.A.K. Sirisena received the patronage.

 Meanwhile, two more War Heroes of the Special Forces, Corporal E.P.S.A. Edirisinghe and Lance Corporal W.A.D.S. Gunatilake received Rs 200,000/= and Rs 150,000/= respectively as financial grants offered by the SVAB.

 Similarly, Corporal W.R. Sampath and Lance Corporal M.K.D. Ranjit Lal, War Heroes of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps who had done a praiseworthy role during the Humanitarian Operations received cash assistance for construction of houses and washrooms.

 All those grants are given under the SVAB project for construction of houses and washrooms.
