ALAWWA RVAPL FACTORY CELEBRATES 10 TH ANIVERSSARY
Troops of Alawwa Factory serving under the Ranaviru Apparel (RVAPL) Headquarters at Yakkala celebrated its 10th anniversary with series of events at the camp premises in Alawwa under the supervision of Lieutenant Colonel Nandana Weerasekara, Factory Manager of Alawwa and on instructions of Major General Manjula Manathunga, Commandant – RVAPL, on a grand scale during January 16-18.

During the inauguration of the programme, Factory Manager was warmly welcomed by key appointment holders of Alawwa Factory on arrival at the camp premise. On the same occasion, a Guard Turnout presented by the troops of Alawwa factory saluted Lieutenant Colonel Nandana Weerasekara, Factory Manager of Alawwa in accordance with military traditions.

Meanwhile Major General Manjula Mantunga, Commandant – Ravapl was warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel Nandana Weerasekara, Factory Manager of Alawwa on arrival at the camp premise to witness and attend second session of the program. Meanwhile the commandant addressed the troops and extended his best wishes to all members of the Ranaviru Apparel – Alawwa on its 10th anniversary and thanked all members past and present and their families for their contribution towards enabling the Ranaviru Apparel to reach the heights it has achieved.On the same occasion, Commandant –RAVAPL, All officers, and Other Ranks participate for the all rank lunch at RVAPL.

On 17 January, an all- night Pririth Chanting was organized at the factory premises to bless all members including differently able troops serving the RVAPL and the Army as well as transfer merits to fallen War Heroes followed by an alms giving ceremony on the next day (18th) morning culminated anniversary programm.

Senior officers, including Major General Manjula Manathunga, Commandant – RVAPL and Brigadier Kapila Ranaweera, Deputy Commandant – RVAPL, Other Ranks and members of the civil staff participated in the anniversary formalities.
