Troops serving at the Ranaviru Apparel (RVAPL) – Yakkala and Alawwa took part in series of events organized by Administrative Staff under the guidance of Brigadier Senaka Dassanayake, Commandant, RVAPL and supervised by Brigadier Kapila Ranaweear Deputy Commandant on account of first working day of the year 2019.
First session of the day’s programme inaugurated by hoisting the National flag at the Alawwa factory by the Commandant, RVAPL followed by recital of the National Anthem and the Army song.
Meanwhile a two-minute silence was observed to hounour the memory of fallen War Heroes before reading the national service pledge in accordance with state sector policies by a senior officer serving at the RVAPL Factory.
Later, a formal troop address was made by the Commandant- RVAPL as per the next event of the itinerary.
Troop employed as Machine Operators together with members of other departments started routine works under the pirith chanting as the final event of the first session.
Same day at the same time the same programe was conducted at the Yakkala Factory under the patronage of Brigadier Kapila Ranaweear, Deputy Commandant – RVAPL.
In the mean time troops of Ranaviru Apparel (RVAPL) Factories at Yakkala and Alawwa took part in two separate award giving ceremonies. The commandant gave away the Trophy for Best Production Line of Alawa Factory for the month of December to the Fifth production line Manager Major Wasantha Aethugala, serving at Alawwa accompanied by its supervisor and appreciated all the members while encouraging them to continue their quality performances.
Similarly Deputy Commandant gave away the Trophy for Best Production Line of Yakkala Factory for the month of December to the Fourth production line Manager Capt Dharshika Hewage serving at Yakkala accompanied by its supervisor and appreciated all the members while encouraging them to continue their quality performances.
The day’s programme ended with an interactive All Ranks’ Tea, where the Commandant and Deputy Commandant took time off to speak to All Ranks and shared greetings with them at the Ranaviru Apparel Alawwa and Yakkala Factory premises, during refreshments.
