  OFFICER CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER FLAG
 
 
 

Blue is the primary colour of Sri Lanka Army flag which signifies the relationship between the sky and the sea. Blue is perceived as a constant in our life. As the immense expanse, vast space or quantity without apparent limits the boundless ocean and the blue sky, the knowledge gained by this institution crosses the boundaries and reach to the success. As in the flag of Sri Lanka Army, orange is a blend of two colours red and yellow that stimulates enthusiasm. It evokes a degree of emotion which can range from anticipation to outright victory. It enlightens the path of the Centre in vitality with endurance

   
     
  SHIELD
  Shield is the identity of a warrior. It is defensive armour carried to protect the warrior from his enemy‚Äôs blows and could be used to deflect thrown spears and other missiles. As such, this shield signifies the strong arm strategies used to defend the mother nation by any threats coming on the way.
   
  OLIVE LEAVES
  The glaring torch encircled by two sheaves of paddy grains runs back to the golden era where this pearl of Indian Ocean was once known as the Granary of the Orient reflecting self sufficiency and prosperity.
   
  GLARING TORCH
  The torch is a common emblem of both enlightenment and hope. It symbolizes life, truth and the regenerative power of flame and the vision of education which help as the enlightenment to all the students.
   
  SWORD
  The sword in the right hand is said to be the emblem of military honour and should incite the bearer to a just and generous pursuit of honour and virtue. It symbolizes the defending of justice and walking towards victory as brave patriots.
   
  PALM LEAF MANUSCRIPT
  Our ancestors have used palm leaf manuscripts to store the acquired knowledge. They are long lasting. Therefore, by writing the motto of the center on the palm leaf depicts the continuation of the vision and mission of the institution.
   
  BLACK METAL COLOUR
  Weapons used during war front were mainly made by black metal to encourage the imagination of a different world from that of daylight realities. That is, enemies find unable to identify the warriors and draw back half way. Black metal used in this crest too symbolizes the sophistication of this Centre.
