An important lecture organized by Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) got underway on 04 January 2023 at the IPSOTSL main auditorium by focusing the all ranks of the training establishment.

With the Invitation of Brig CA Rajapaksha RSP, the Commandant IPSOTSL, reputed representative of Dangerous Drug Prevention Unit Kaluthara, Mrs Chamalee Jiwanthi the Assistant Drug Education and Information Officer arrived to IPSOTSL to deliver the lecture. Lt Col GADIS Samaranayake RSP GW, The Military coordinator for Drug Prevention in Kalutara and Rathnapura District secretarial office performed a wider role in coordinating the said event successfully.

Drugs and Alcohol addiction can have serious adverse effects on an individual’s life. It can cause damages in physically and mentally while also affecting them in work, society or in their relationships. Guest speaker conducted the lectures with great enthusiasm and highlighted many important psychological points in relation with drugs. Moreover she highlighted the ways to prevent drug addiction with proper education and advisors. Drug and Alcohol addiction can be stopped before it gets started by a word of mouth to the community.
