The International Humanitarian Law and Human Right basic course which is conducted by the Directorate of HR and IHL was held from 03 September 2018 to 20 September 2018 and was completed successfully. The course consisted of 19 officers including two officers from Sri Lankan Air Force and One officer from Sri Lanka Navy and 42 other ranks representing tri services and police.

The objective of the course was to enhance knowledge of the junior level officers regarding Humanitarian Law and its implication and basic knowledge of Human Right violation. The opening address was conducted as customary by commandant of the IPSOTSL and closing address was conducted by the deputy Director of Directorate of HR and IHL
