The much-awaited Highlanders Talent Show 2025 was glamorously staged on 13th September 2025 at the Swimming Pool premises of the Regimental Centre, Gemunu Watch. The event was held under the distinguished patronage of Major General WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP, Director General Infantry and Colonel of the Regiment, Gemunu Watch.
From the semi-final rounds, which featured 19 talented competitors, six finalists earned their place on the grand stage. The final judging panel was comprised of renowned professionals, including SangeethVisharada and SangeethNipun personalities, ensuring a prestigious evaluation of the performances.
What made the evening truly remarkable was the exclusive participation of service personnel. Every performance—be it soulful songs, band performances, energetic dance segments by the Army Dancing Team, or music fusions—was delivered entirely by members of the armed forces. Their passion and dedication electrified the atmosphere, captivating the large audience that had gathered to cheer them on.
As the night reached its climax, the anticipation grew. Finally, the judges announced the winner of the Highlanders Talent Show 2025, along with the 2nd and 3rd places, followed by the remaining finalists.
1st Place: Cash Prize of Rs. 100,000
2nd Place: Cash Prize of Rs. 75,000
3rd Place: Cash Prize of Rs. 50,000
Other finalists were also presented with valuable cash prizes in recognition of their outstanding efforts.
The prize awarding ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Major General WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP, along with Dr. (Mrs) DilrukshiWimalaratne, President of the SVBGW. Also in attendance were Major General KJNMPK Nawarathna RWP RSP ndu, General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division, and Major General AMA Abeyawardana WWV RWP RSP ndc, General Officer Commanding 58 Infantry Division.
The event concluded with a group photograph marking the success of this spectacular evening. The Highlanders Talent Show 2025 not only showcased the hidden artistic talents of the Gemunu Watch but also highlighted the unity, creativity, and spirit of its proud members.
