NEWLY PROMOTED MAJOR GENERALS WERE HONOURED IN FELICITATION CEREMONY AT THE GEMUNU WATCH REGIMENTAL CENTRE ON 12 NOVEMBER 2022

The Gemunu Watch Regiment hosted 'Felicitation Ceremony to newly promoted Major General S Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc and Major General JMRNK Jayamanna RWP with the directions of the Director General Infantry and Colonel of the Regiment Major General A C Lamahewa WWV RWP RSP to congratulate in conformity with military traditions.

The newly promoted two Star Generals were warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant Brigadier WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP on behalf of the Colonel of the Regiment and All Ranks of the Gemunu Watch. Then greeted them by a 'Guard Turnout’. Featuring the traditional event, they offered floral tribute to the fallen war heroes of the tribe who made supreme sacrifice in the name of our motherland. Subsequently both Major Generals were honoured by the 'Guard of Honour' at the Parade Ground.

For the day's programme, All Ranks tea hosted in honour of newly promoted Major Generals by all officers and other Ranks. Reaching the pinnacle of event newly promoted Major Generals were accompanied to the lunch arranged at the Officers’ Mess. Thereafter special memento was presented by Major General AC Lamahewa WWV RWP RSP The Director General Infantry and Colonel of the Regiment in appreciation of their dedicated and committed service rendered to the Regiment. Members of the Regimental Council, Senior Officers, Staff Officers, Commanding Officers and Other Ranks were also present at the ceremony.

All officers and other ranks of the Regimental Centre extended their heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished senior officers for their commitment and dedication towards the Gemunu Watch and wished for a healthy, wealthy, peaceful and a prosperous life.
