A special ceremony was held to felicitate the victorious wining athletes who emerged as the unbeaten Champions of Sri Lanka Army Inter Regiment Athletics Championship 2022 with the participation of Colonel of the Regiment Major General AC Lamahewa WWV RWP RSP on 06 August 2022 at the Regimental Centre.
Both athletes and coaches of the Gemunu Watch Regiment who represented wining Novices athletes Team were felicitated during the Ceremony which was attended by the Colonel of the Regiment and, Centre Commandant along with several senior officers, officers and other ranks of the regiment. The Colonel of the Regiment has extended his honour and gratitude to the athletes and coaches of the Champions and the Gemunu Watch Regiment were also able to hold same championship in the previous years of 2007, 2012, 2014 and became the Runner-Up in year 2016 and 2019.
As highlighted by the Colonel of the regiment, Novices athletes Team of the Gemunu Watch continuing with the momentum of wining spirit, added much valued contribution towards the dignity, pride and fame to the regiment and insisted to provide all requisites for further the improvement of their skills to be more consistent with winning results.
The felicitation ceremony was concluded with a group photograph and a tea party expressing gratitude to all contributed to bring about the fame and honour to the regiment.
