BRIGADIER JMRNK JAYAMANNA RWP ASSUMED THE DUTIES AS 20 TH CENTRE COMMANDANT OF REGIMENTAL CENTRE THE GEMUNU WATCH

Taking over of duties by newly appointed Centre Commandant, Brigadier JMRNK Jayamanna RWP was held on 02nd September 2020 at the Regimental Centre the Gemunu Watch. The event was unfolded as follows.

•All Ranks Tea

•Troop Address

Deputy Centre Commandant, Col AMA Abeywardhana WWV RWP RSP welcomed new Centre Commandant and invited to review the Guard Turn Out at the main entrance. Then, the ceremonial commemoration for fallen war heroes at the monument was taken place and Officers and Other Ranks of the regtl centre were presented to witness the event. At an auspicious time, Brig JMRNK Jayamanna RWP assumed the duties as 20 Centre Commandant of the regimental centre the Gemunu Watch. During the troop address, the Centre Commandant requested the contribution of all Staff Officers, clerks and all other ranks of the Regimental Centre to support him to work for the organization and emphasized the importance of maintaining of discipline at highest level.

Brigadier Roshan Jayamanna was born on 23 August 1968. He is a proud product of Kingswood College - Kandy. He enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army on 14 July 1989 to Intake 32 and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and subsequently posted to the 4th Battalion the Gemunu Watch and later commanded 9th Battalion the Gemunu Watch. During his military career, he has held many Command, Staff and Instructional appointments in different capacities. In recognition of his gallantry and bravery service in the face of the enemy during the operations, he was awarded with the Rana Wickrama Padakkama (RWP).
