The Regiment Centre the Gemunu Watch organized awareness programe on Social Media Networks on 30 July 2018 at the regiment lecture hall as per the direction of the Colonel of the Regiment, Major General WBDP Fernando RWP RSP USP psc.
The Guest Speaker was Maj T D T Wijesinghe from 12 Sri Lanka Signal Corps on the request made by Regiment Centre.
The awareness programe was immensely benefitted to improve the knowledge of the Officers and Other Ranks regarding the Social Media, Websites and Networking. The lecture was based on the Face Book and it was explained to maintain a safe Face Book account and to create or join Army Face Book account. Also the lecture was included with cybercrimes, side effects, illegal outcomes and bad habits of Face Book users.
6 Officers and 220 Other Ranks participated for this event. The participants highly appreciated the contribution and assistance made by the guest lecturer to make the event a success one.
