OFFERING AN ALMS GIVING FOR SAMANERA THEROS OF BOPATHTHA ENGLISH MEDIUM PIRIWENA AT EHELIYAGODA

The Officers and other ranks of Regimental Centre of the Gemunu Watch attended for religious and alms merit ceremony for 54 Buddhist Samanera Theros of Bopaththa English Medium Piriwena according to the direction of the Colonel of the Regiment on 08 January 2018 at the Regimental Centre premises.

The programe was arranged according to the request made by Student Buddhist Theros of the Bopaththa English Medium Piriwena in Eheliyagoda, to gain the experience to visiting an Army camp.

Ven. Rassagala Chandha Kiththi Nayake thero, incumbent of the Bopaththa English Medium Piriwena led the Buddhist theros. Ven. Buddhan Kotte Sumana Chandra thero coordinated the programe.

Brigadier K D C G J Tilakaratne RWP RSP, Centre Commandant of RHQGW together with other Officers and ORs offered alms to the theros and listened afterwards Anusasanas (orations) of the theros who invoked blessings on the organization and spoke high of contribution made by the Army for the betterment of the country. The Penwedeema ritual towards the end of the alms-giving transferred merits on all fallen War Heroes and others who had served for the organization since its inception. The Regimental staff offered Pirikara to all theros at the end of the Alms giving.
