FAMILY GET TO GETHER OF RETIRED AND SERVING OFFICERS AT LAYA BEACH HOTEL
The annual family get-together of the Gemunu Watch retired and serving officers and their family members took place in Laya Beach Hotel on 27 August 2017.
This yearly event is an initiative by Major General WBDP Fernando RWP RSP USP psc , the Deputy Chief of Staff and Colonel of the Regiment of the Gemunu Watch, with the idea of strengthening regimental and family ties among the families of Gemunu Watch officers.
Officers along-with their spouses and children began to arrive at the Laya Beach Hotel premises on Sunday (27 August ) since early morning and Major General WBDP Fernando RWP RSP USP psc too joined with them with Mrs. Anusha Fernando the President of Seva Vanitha Branch of the Gemunu Watch Regiment extending goodwill.
The Get together saw its formal beginning with a delicious welcome drink being offered amidst a piece of party musical play. The children of officers also flocked around places of kiddies’ sports events while their parents seen interacting with the gathering and enjoying with Beat band and calypso musicians playing, food and beverages at various stalls arranged impressively on several corners at the venue. It was a grade opportunity as the family photograph were taken at the Laya Beach Hotel.
It is a very pride and privilege for all officers serving in the Gemunu Regiment that the participating of Maj Gen (Retd) LT Fernando, Maj Gen (Retd) MM Sumanasena USP, Maj Gen (Retd) LBR Mark RSP VSV USP ndu, Maj Gen (Retd) MK Jayawardena RSP ndu, Maj Gen (Retd) PUS Vithanage RSP ndu, Maj Gen ( Retd) Paksaweera RSP USP, Brig (Retd) TD Rajapaksa , Brig (Retd) WVS Botheju, Brig (Retd) HN Halangoda RWP RSP USP USACGSC, Brig (Retd) M Wijewickrama RSP USP and many more senior officers those who contributed an extreme support to the elevation of the regiment. Aslo to grace this occasion Maj Gen K P A Jayasekera WWV RSP USP ndc psc, Maj Gen GJAW Galagamage, Centre Commandant, senior officers and officers, staff officers of the regiment centre were participated.
