GW TROOPS, TOGETHER WITH ‘SURARA LANAKA SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT FUNDATION ’ JOIN DISTRIBUTION OF RELIEF PACKAGES
Flood and Landslip relief operations undertaken by Army troops of the Gemunu Watch in worst-affected Kalawana and Kirialla of Ratnapura District, coordinated another ‘Susarana Lanka Social Development Foundation ’ initiated relief programme and assisted the distribution of dry ration parcels, sanitary items, drinking water bottles and school accessories on Monday (19) at Kalawna Model Primary Vidyalaya premises - Hagarangala, general area Epitawala – Thanthiriwaththa village and Badabathdara .
During the programme relief items donated among 60 families at Epitawala – Thanthiriwaththa village, 10 families who are at the temporary relief centre at Badabathdara Primay School and 69 children at Kalawna Model Primary Vidyalaya under the supervision of the organizers. The sponsorship programme of the Susarana Lanka Social Development Foundation was headed by Ven Galahitiyawa Sumanaratha Thero at Mawathu Maha Viharaya, Kandy.
