WAR HERO WITH IMPAIRED SIGHT MOVES INTO NEW ASVU GIFTED HOME

One more new house with sponsorship, provided by Gemunu Watch (GW) Seva Vanitha Unit and Villagers of Mureththettuwa was handed over to the disable War Hero, Private A.M.Ajith Kumara during a simple ceremony in Muruththettuwa, Dehiowita on Wednesday (23). At the invitation of Mrs Rukmani Mark, Chairperson, GW Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Damayanthi Ratnayake, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit graced the hand-over ceremony as the chief guest. Private A. M. Ajith Kumara with his impaired sight following battlefield injuries was living in his old house with his family until this new house was built by the GW Seva Vanitha Unit with labour support of GW troops. Mrs P M Leelawathi, the philanthropist who donated this plot of land to build this new house, unveiled a plaque and added memory to the donation. During the same day, fallen GW War Heroes were commemorated offering floral tributes at the Ranaviru Statue in Gemunu Watch Regimental Centre, Kuruvita. Mrs Ratnayake after paying respect to it handed over scholarships to children of fallen and disable War Heroes, financial aids, wheelchairs and clutches for Disable War Heroes. Major General L.B.R Mark, GW Colonel of the Regiment, Senior Seva Vanitha members, Officers and villagers attended the occasion.
