Under the esteemed guidance of Major General WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP, Director General Infantry and Colonel of the Regiment, the event was a spectacular showcase of tradition, camaraderie, and joyous celebration.

The festivities kicked off with a warm welcome for Major General Wimalaratne, the Chief Guest, who led the lighting of the traditional oil lamp and festival commenced with realising colourful balloons to free air. This ceremonial act, accompanied by members of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Gemunu Watch, set a hopeful tone for the day. Invitees, officers, other ranks, and enthusiastic participants gathered to usher in the New Year together.

A thrilling array of traditional games captivated attendees throughout the day. Events such as Tug-of-War, Blindfolded Eye-placing, Bun-eating contests, and the Lime and Spoon race brought laughter and excitement to the occasion. The artistry of Cadjan weaving and the hilarity of Pillow fighting, Gunny bag races, and a unique Blind Pot competition showcased the joyous spirit of the Sinhala New Year. Adding to the festivities were games like Tracing of the Hidden Guest, Music Chairs, and a lively Fancy Dress Pageant, which had onlookers cheering and celebrating.
