Under the guidance and concept of the President of the SevaVanitha Branch of The Gemunu Watch, Dr. (Mrs.) Dilrukshi Wimalaratne, The 1st Battalion of The Gemunu Watch organized a donation programme on 01 October 2025 at Maliyadewa School - Welimada to celebrate World Children’s Day.
The event aimed to support education and enhance the well-being of students. The Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion the Gemunu Watch arranged a donation from a philanthropist worth approximately Rs. 800,000, including school stationery, sports equipment and gifts, were presented to the school. A newly renovated library was also handed over by the President of the SVBGW, along with a collection of new books to encourage reading among children.
The celebration featured student performances, a musical programme, sports activities, and a special lunch for all students and teachers.
This meaningful event reflected the compassion and dedication of the SevaVanitha Branch of The Gemunu Watch in promoting education, nurturing young talent, and strengthening the bond between the military and the community.
