Book Donation Programme was organized by the 1st Battalion of The Gemunu Watch to mark World Children’s Day on 1st October 2025. The event was held at the battalion premises with the participation of the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch of The Gemunu Watch, Dr. (Mrs.) Dilrukshi Wimalaratne, on the invitation of the Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion, Major W.D.S. Rodrigo RSP psc.
During the programme, school items including books, school bags, water bottles, lunch boxes, and other essential supplies were distributed among 96 children of soldiers serving in the 1st Battalion of The Gemunu Watch.
This thoughtful initiative reflected the continuous commitment of the Seva Vanitha Branch to support and uplift the welfare of soldiers’ families. The event not only brought joy and encouragement to the children but also strengthened the bond between the regimental family and its members. It served as a meaningful gesture of care, emphasizing the importance of education and the well-being of the children who represent the future of the nation.
