On being informed of fast depleting stocks in blood bank Monaragala Hospital. Major R M Pathiraja RSP USP, Commanding Officer 18th Battalion the Gemunu Watch with the blessing of Major General G M N Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, Commander 12 Infantry Division and Brigadier L A J L B Udowita RWP RSP. Commander 121 Infantry Brigade launched a Blood Donation programme at the Battalion Headquarters, Maligawila on 17 November 2022 coincide with its 14th Anniversary.
The campaign was assisted by the medical staff of blood bank, district General Hospital Monaragala and 75 Officers, Other Ranks Volunteered to give away blood for patients in the Monaragala District.
During the event troops provided snacks and refreshment to all blood donors and the medical staff who came from Monaragala District General Hospital.
At the end of the programme, medical staff who came from Monaragala District General Hospital thanks for arranging this nature of timely needed programme in accordance with the anniversary.
