TAKING OVER DUTIES AS THE COMMANDING OFFICER OF THE 23RD BATTALION THE GEMUNU WATCH

Major RMRB Ratnayake RSP assumed duties as the 7th Commanding Officer 23rd Battalion the Gemunu Watch on 01 september 2022. A brief ceremony was held which included Religious observances and Troops Address in accordance with the heath protocol and guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the Army Headquarters.

Major RMRM Ratnayake RSP was joined the Sri Lanka Army as an Officer Cadet of Sir john kotelawala defense university with Intake 17 on 08th August 1999. Upon completion of successful military training, he was commissioned as Second Lieutenant on 08th August 2001 and was posted to 5th battalion the gemunu watch.

During his illustrious military career he rendered his service in various command, Instructor, and staff appointments and performed effectively, serving in almost all operational areas of the country, as a platoon commander, intelligence officer Adjt and Company Commander, in the 5GW , 2nd in Command in 11th Battalion of the Gemunu Watch.

All Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment Centre extended their warm wishes to newly appointed Commanding officer and wished him for a healthy, wealthy, peaceful and prosperous life.
