TAKING OVER DUTIES AS THE COMMANDING OFFICER OF THE 19TH BATTALION THE GEMUNU WATCH

Major U K D L K Udugama RWP RSP USP assumed duties as the 7th Commanding Officer 19th Battalion the Gemunu Watch on 01 June 2022. A brief ceremony was held which included Religious observances and Troops Address in accordance with the heath protocol and guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the Army Headquarters.

Major U K D L K Udugama RWP RSP USP was joined the Sri Lanka Army as an Officer Cadet of Sri Lanka Military Academy with Regular Intake 52 on 28th June 2000. Upon completion of successful military training, he was commissioned as Second Lieutenant on 22nd June 2002 and was posted to 3rd Special force.

During his illustrious military career he rendered his service in various command, Instructor, and staff appointments and performed effectively, serving in almost all operational areas of the country, as a platoon commander, Company Commander, in the 3 SF , 2nd in Command in 19th Battalion of the Gemunu Watch.

All Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment Centre extended their warm wishes to newly appointed Commanding officer and wished him for a healthy, wealthy, peaceful and prosperous life.
