The newly constructed Cafeteria of 8th Battalion the Gemunu watch was opened at the RHQ GW premises. The execution of this timely valued concept was a broad effort of the Officers and Other Ranks of 8 GW under guidance of commanding Officer Lt Col W W K M N Wikramasinghe RWP RSP. The concept is purely to uplift welfare facilities and the standard of soldiers.
This artistic and structural valued masterpiece was declared open by the Commander of Security Force (West) and Colonel of the Regiment of the Gemunu Watch, Major General B V D P Abeynayake USP ndu on Friday 23rd October 2020 upon an invitation extended by the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel W W K M N Wickramasinghe. Director of Army Sports, Brigadier P M L Chandrasiri WWV RWP RSP ndu, Chief Operating Officer (Laya chain of hotels, Dte of Welfare) Brigadier D V C K Kulatunga USP, Centre Commandant RHQ GW, Brigadier J M R N K Jayamanna RWP, project Officer SFHQ (West) Colonel T C L Ganepola RWP RSP psc and few other Senior Officers were graced the occasion.
