NEWLY PROMOTED MAJOR GENERALS WERE HONOURED IN FELICITATION CEREMONY AT THE GEMUNU WATCH REGIMENTAL CENTRE ON 20 JANUARY 2024

The Gemunu Watch Regiment hosted 'Felicitation Ceremony' to newly promoted Major General CA Rajapakse RSP and Major General W B J K Wimalaratne RWP RSP with the directions of The Colonel of the Regiment the Gemunu Watch, Major General SWB Welagedara RSP VSV USP ndc to congratulate in conformity with military traditions.

The newly promoted Two Star Generals were warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant Brigadier HCL Galappathti RSP USP on behalf of the Colonel of the Regiment and All Ranks of the Gemunu Watch. Then greeted them by a 'Guard Turnout' , Subsequently Featuring the traditional event, they offered floral tribute to the fallen war heroes of the tribe who made supreme sacrifice in the name of our motherland. Then followed by both Major Generals were honoured by the 'Guard of Honour' at the Parade Ground.

The highlight of the day's programme was a lunch hosted by all officers in the officers mess premises, in honour of the newly promoted Major Generals. The ceremony was attended by members of the Regimental Council, Senior Officers, Staff Officers, Commanding Officers, making it a truly special and significant occasion.
