The Director General Infantry and Overall Security Coordinator of Army Headquarters Major General PML Chandrasiri WWV RWP RSP ndu assumed duties as the 21st Colonel of the Regiment of the Gemunu Watch on 07th December 2021 amidst religious observances at the office of the Regimental Centre the Gemunu Watch, Kuruwita.
The programme was commenced in accordance with military traditions and Major General PML Chandrasiri WWV RWP RSP ndu was welcomed by the Centre Commandant of the Gemunu Watch and received the traditional guard turn out at the main entrance on 08th December 2021.Subsequently received the salute presented by Gemunu Watch troops at the parade square. Charming and proud, dignified military Guard of Honour was reviewed by the incoming Colonel of the Regiment, accompanied by the Parade Commander together with Centre Commandant in accordance with military traditions.
Thereafter, commemoration of war heroes at the monument was held and customary all ranks tea was organised at the Swimming Pool premises According to the Programme, Major General PML Chandrasiri WWV RWP RSP ndu addressed all ranks at the Highlanders Paradise hall.
Major General PML Chandrasiri WWV RWP RSP ndu is a proud product of Thurstan College-Colombo. He joined the Sri Lanka Army regular force on 20th July 1987 to Intake 28 and he was commissioned on 23rd June 1989 and posted to 4th Battalion of the Gemunu Watch.
