Sri Lanka Army on the instructions of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake promoted all four soldiers who rescued the lives of two children who had been thrown into the Nilwala river by their father during the past weekend.
Accordingly, Lance Corporal S.S Manage, Private E.H De Silva, Private H.K.C Madushanka, all three from Matara-based 3 Gemunu Watch (GW) and Private K.M.P.S Pushpakumara of Engineer Service Regiment (ESR), have been promoted to their next rank in appreciation of their acts of bravery.
Similarly, the Commander of the Army in a separate ceremony at the Army Headquarters on Wednesday (30) will award special certificates to them before a gathering of senior officers.
