Augmenting the honour and the fame of Highlanders, the Gemunu Watch crowned the champions at the Open & Novices Inter Regiment Practical & Combat Shooting Competition - 2022.
The prize awarding ceremony was graced by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu on Friday 30th September and the outstanding victory of the Highlanders were conferred with the championships of Open & Novices Inter Regiment Practical & Combat Shooting Competition - 2022.
The Inter Regiment Practical and Combat Rifle Shooting Competition for the year 2022 took place at the firing ranges of Diyatalawa and the Competition was organized by the small arms association and MSTS enthroning awaiting dreams of shooters of the Sri Lanka Army. Practical and Combat Shooting competition was comprised on par with international standards and male and female firers representing 21 Regiments took part in this year's tournament.
This exceptional victory was achieved by the firing team of the Gemunu Watch under the direction and encouragement of Major General A C Lamahewa WWV RWP RSP, the Director General Infantry and Colonel of the Regiment of the Gemunu Watch and the close supervision of Brigadier WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP, the Regimental Centre Commandant and Chairmen of the Regiment firing Committee.
All former Colonel of the Regiment ,Senior officers , Battalion Commanders , Regimental Staff and Shooting Coaches of the Gemunu Watch provided utmost support for achieve this Remarkable Victory.
