On 1st September 2024, the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch, led by its president, Mrs. Manori Welagedara, along with members of the Seva Vanita branch- GW, organized a special entertainment program for children of the GW family at the Regimental Centre the Gemunu Watch, coincident with the upcoming World Children’s Day.
The event began with the inauguration of the newly constructed Highlanders Cafeteria, a project initiated by Mrs. Welagedara to enhance the facilities for the regiment’s personnel and their families.
The event continued with various indoor activities, including singing and dancing performances for the children. A special lunch was served, ensuring that children and parents enjoyed the day in a warm and joyful environment.
The event concluded with the distribution of gifts and family photographs, leaving lasting memories for all who attended. The event showcased the commitment of the Gemunu Watch to the well-being and happiness of its members and their families, reinforcing the values of community and togetherness.
