The Gemunu Watch football team competed with Northern Provincial football team on 23rd September 2023 and Mailakadu Gnanamurugam Sports Club on 24th September 2023 at Durayappah Stadium, Jaffna. The first match was kik-off with the 0-0 scoring after a very tight fight and Gemunu Watch football team managed to win the second match as 1- 0 scoring.
The Colonel of the Regt of the Gemunu Watch and General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division Major General SWB Welagedara RSP VSV USP ndc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest with the participation of Brigadier General Staff, Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) Brig KJNMPK Nawaratne RWP RSP ndu, and Senior Offrs, Offrs of the Gemunu Watch.
The Commanding Officer of 17 GW was the host organizer of the event, and the awarding ceremony brightened up the event.
