Sewa Vanitha branch of Gemunu Watch, along with the 1st Battalion the Gemunu Watch organized the construction of a house for a needy soldier which was ceremonially handed over to Infantryman Hewage HGC, a 1 GW soldier on 19 June 2023 by the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs. Shalika Edirisinghe. The main financial support for the project was given by sons and daughter of Mr Wijerathna Bandara Herath Ranmadugala, Asela Ranmadugala, Sajeewa Ranmadugala, Visuddika Ranmadugala and Sumendara Ranmadugala. Apparently, they happened to be the friends of the Colonel of the Regiment and also was a dream of Mr Wijerathna Bandara Herath Ranmadugala. Further, Construction and material support was also given by the 1st Battalion the Gemunu Watch under the leadership of the Commanding Officer, Major Nalinda Karunathilake RSP.
The Colonel of the Regiment, Center Commandant, Commanding Officer of 1 GW, officers and the soldiers of 1 GW and members of the Seva Vanitha Branch also were present at the ceremony.
