The Regimental Centre ushered a Dinner Night on 16 June 2023 for retired Highlanders, Brigadier R B Benjamin RSP USP, Brigadier A M S Premawansa RWP RSP USP and suppose to retire Brigadier A M Muttalib. Colonel of the Regiment of the Gemunu Watch Maj Gen E A D P Edirisinghe psc, delivered the customary farewell speech on behalf of all Officers of the Gemunu Watch to extend the deep sense of gratitude and appreciation of the service of these senior officers . During the farewell speech, Maj Gen E A D P Edirisinghe psc recalled some of the salient achievements and milestones of Brigadier R B Benjamin RSP USP, Brigadier A M Muttalib and Brigadier A M S Premawansa RWP RSP USP and some memories as well. Moreover in this farewell speech he highly esteemed the invaluable service of their spouses which contributed to the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch.
A special retirement gift and a photo album were presented to Brigadier R B Benjamin RSP USP, Brigadier A M Muttalib and Brigadier A M S Premawansa RWP RSP USP by Colonel of the Regiment in appreciation of their dedicated services rendered to the Gemunu Watch.
All Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment Centre extended their heartfelt gratitude to the retiring Highlanders for their commitment and dedication to the Gemunu Watch and wished them healthy, wealthy, peaceful and prosperous lives.
