The farewell ceremony for Maj Gen JMRNK Jayamanna RWP was held at the Regimental Centre on 22 Aug 2023 at the occasion of his retirement after completing over 34 years of successful service in the Sri Lanka Army.
The Centre Commandant, Brigadier WBJK Wimalarathna RWP RSP welcomed the Chief Guest and invited him to review the Guard turnout at the entrance. Subsequently, the ceremonial commemoration of fallen war heroes at the monument took place. Then he was accompanied to the salute of the proud and dignified parade at the parade square of the regiment.
Maj Gen JMRNK Jayamanna RWP joined the Sri Lanka Army on 14 July 1989 and was commissioned on 19 January 1991 and was posted to the Gemunu Watch. During his illustrious military career, he has held many command, staff and instructor appointments in different capacities.
All Officers and Other Ranks of the Regimental Centre extended their heartfelt gratitude to the retiring Highlander for his commitment and dedication to the Gemunu Watch. All Highlanders wished him a healthy, wealthy, peaceful, and prosperous life.
