The farewell ceremony for Brigadier K P D N Chandrasena RWP RSP was held at the Regiment Centre on 12 March 2023.The occasion of his retirement after completing over 34 years of successful service in the Sri Lanka Army.
Deputy Centre Commandant, Colonel WGIS Gamage USP welcomed the Chief Guest and invited him to review the Guard turnout at the entrance. Subsequently, the ceremonial commemoration for fallen war heroes at the monument took place. Then he accompanied to the salute of the proud, dignified parade at the parade square. Moreover, to mark the event a group photograph was taken to highlight the event. Later, Chief Gust was accompanied to the Special Lunch at the Officer's Mess. Towards the end of the day’s program, Officers and Other Ranks after the special lunch in a moving gesture, honored him in a street line farewell as his vehicle began to move out of the premises.
Brigadier K P D N Chandrasena RWP RSP joined Sri Lanka Army on 20 January 1989 and was commissioned on 05October 1990. During his military career, he has held many command, staff and instructor appointments in different capacities.
All Officers and Other Ranks of the Regimental Centre extended their heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing Highlander for his commitment and dedication to the Gemunu Watch. They wished him a healthy, wealthy, peaceful, and prosperous life.
