FAREWELL CEREMONY FOR BRIGADIER AM MUTTALIB ACCORDED MILITARY SALUTE

The farewell ceremony for Brigadier A M Muttalib was held at the Regimental Centre on 15 July 2023 at the occasion of his retirement after completing over 34 years of successful service in the Sri Lanka Army.

The Deputy Centre Commandant, Colonel WGIS Gamage USP welcomed the Chief Guest and invited him to review the Guard turnout at the entrance. Subsequently, the ceremonial commemoration of fallen war heroes at the monument took place. Then he was accompanied to the salute of the proud and dignified parade at the parade square of the regiment.

Brigadier A M Muttalib joined the Sri Lanka Army on 20 January 1989 and was commissioned on 05 October 1990 and was posted to the Gemunu Watch. During his illustrious military career, he has held many command, staff and instructor appointments in different capacities. Further, he has held chairman of the Muslim Association of Sri Lanka Army.

All Officers and Other Ranks of the Regimental Centre extended their heartfelt gratitude to the retiring Highlander for his commitment and dedication to the Gemunu Watch. All Highlanders wished him a healthy, wealthy, peaceful, and prosperous life.
