The Regimental Centre the Gemunu Watch organized a programe in commemoration of fallen war heroes of the Gemunu Watch who paid their supreme sacrifice for against LTTE terrorism at the regimental monument as per the direction of the Colonel of the Regiment, Major General WBDP Fernando RWP RSP USP psc and the event was unfolded as follows.
Rising of National Flag and the Army Flag followed by recital of the Army Song and the National Anthem.
Two-minute silence
Reading of Commander's message for War Heroes' Day.
Troop address by the Colonel of the regiment.
Flower wreaths for fallen war heroes.
The Colonel of the Regiment and Centre Commandant were main inaugurators and transferred merits to the memory of all fallen War Heroes and invoked blessings on the Colonel of the Regiment, all officers and other ranks in the regiment. During the troop address, the Colonel of the Regiment high of the sacrifices of all War Heroes who fought for the country's unitary status and transferred merits to their departed souls.
More than 30 Officers and approximately 350 Other Ranks participated for this event representing all Gemunu Watch Battalions.
