Colonel M.A.D.R Mangala RSP of the Gemunu Watch (GW) who has been serving as Commandant of Airmobile Training School (AMTS) at Nikawewa suddenly passed away on Monday (11) after a brief illness, associated with heart failure. He was 49 years of age at the time of his unfortunate demise.
Colonel M.A.D.R Mangala RSP who formerly served as a warrior in the Special Forces (SF) actively contributed to the successful completion of the war against LTTE terrorists before May 2009 and joined the GW Regiment afterwards.
His remains are now lying at his residence in Sedara Gunathilaka Watta, Nagoda, Dodangoda. Funeral arrangements with full military honours will take place at 4.00 p.m on Wednesday (13) at Atawila Watta cemetery at Nagoda.
